I’ve finally managed to cut my story down to size for the Halloween show on Wednesday – slashed it from 5,200 to 3,900 words. It’s tough love. Hate doing it but you cannae expect the punters to listen to some long overdrawn story. So I’m sure it’s better for it. I’ve had to do worse cuts. The last king of Rona was 13,000 words and I managed to bludgeon that down to 9,000 for the reading (the crowd go that one in three parts – we ain’t that sadistic). So for those of you that go to the show (details of which are in my previous post) spare a thought for the delete key and unsung art of the editor.
